Moving to another server
Move KumoYami to a new server, keeping your settings and your license.
Your license can be active on a number of servers at once, depending on your plan. To move KumoYami, you free the license on the old server and activate it on the new one.
Deactivate the license on the old server
In the panel, License → Deactivate on this server. That frees it up for the new one.
Make the backup
On the old server, back up datos/, .env, docker-compose.yml and, if present,
docker-compose.override.yml and Caddyfile, then copy it to the new one:
scp ~/kumoyami-backup-2026-11-01.tgz user@NEW-SERVER:~Copy the local folders you publish too, if they live on the server itself.
Prepare the new server
Install Docker (or run the installer, which does it for you) and log in to the registry:
sudo docker login registry.kumoyami.com -u lic_xxxxxxxxxxxxRestore the backup into the same folder and start it:
sudo mkdir -p /opt/kumoyami && cd /opt/kumoyami
sudo tar xzf ~/kumoyami-backup-2026-11-01.tgz
sudo chown -R 1000:1000 datos
sudo docker compose up -dIf you mount local folders, check that their paths under volumes exist on the new server.
Activate the license and switch DNS
Log in to the panel and activate the license on the License page. Then point the domain's DNS record at the new server's IP. With the same domain, your OneDrive redirect URI still works.
The old server is gone?
If you couldn't deactivate the license (the server was lost or already deleted), get in touch with your license ID and we'll free it for you.
