Raspberry Pi and ARM

KumoYami on 64-bit ARM processors, Raspberry Pi included.

ARM processors power the Raspberry Pi, Apple Silicon Macs, many budget servers (Ampere on Oracle Cloud and Hetzner, Graviton on AWS) and entry-level NAS boxes (Synology's "j" and "value" series, QNAP's ARM models).

ARM: coming soon

KumoYami's image is x86_64 only for now (Intel and AMD processors). The ARM build (arm64: Raspberry Pi, Apple Silicon Macs, ARM servers and NAS) is coming in an upcoming release, and this guide will be updated when it lands.

In the meantime:

  • If you're about to rent a VPS, pick one with an x86_64 processor (Intel or AMD): it's the most common option and KumoYami runs on it today. See Linux server or VPS.
  • If you already have an ARM server, hold off installing for now: pulling the image would fail with an error like no matching manifest for linux/arm64. Your license will work just the same once the ARM release is out.
  • On an Apple Silicon Mac, Docker Desktop can run the x86_64 image under emulation for a test drive, but it's slower and not supported.
